Digital Marketing agency in Berkshire.
Websites built around user intent and your business goals, designed and developed entirely in-house, wherever in Berkshire you’re based.
If you have the brief, we have the solution
A full service team of specialists, built to deliver.
A good website is really two jobs done well at once. The design needs to represent your brand and guide visitors towards taking action, while the build behind it needs to be fast, secure and easy for your team to manage. We handle both in-house, from the first wireframe through to a finished, live site, so nothing gets lost between a designer and a developer who’ve never properly spoken to each other.
Whether you need something built from scratch or a rebuild of a site that’s become more of a hindrance than a help, the approach stays consistent: clean code, a clear structure, and a build shaped around what your customers actually need to do once they arrive.

What our clients say
Businesses we've helped grow.
In their own words.
Great work is built on strong relationships and open collaboration. Over the years we’ve worked with businesses across a range of industries, and here’s what some of them have to say about partnering with us.
“Clever Marketing balanced what the brand needed with what I, personally, wanted to say. They listened, then pushed back where it improved things. The result exceeded my expectations, came in on time and on budget, and is already delivering results. Even the college alpacas behaved on camera. A pleasure to work with, and it shows in the final product.”
“I’ve worked with Clever Marketing for the past few years. Brian Woodcock and his team designed and developed our Flyertech website, making the process easy from start to delivery. No hesitation recommending them.”
“After 13+ years running a complex business, restaurant, live music and takeaways, we refreshed our website. Unlike my previous designer, Clever Marketing understood my business model first, then designed something that goes above and beyond.”

The Clever way
Built around your business, not a generic process.
We take the time to understand your goals, your audience and what’s already working before building anything. From there, a tailored plan to improve and deliver it, run by an in-house team that feels like an extension of your own.
Step 1
Discovery & research
We start by understanding what your site actually needs to achieve, who it needs to win over, and where the current one is letting you down. For businesses, that means looking at how competitors are presenting themselves both locally and across the wider county, so your site is positioned to get ahead rather than simply match what’s already out there.
Step 2
Design &
development
We design around clear information hierarchy and genuine user intent, then build on clean, maintainable code with SEO foundations in place from the start. You’ll see designs before any of it is built, so there’s nothing unexpected when the site goes live.
Step 3
Delivery & results
We test thoroughly before launch, then continue supporting you afterwards, whether that’s training your team on content, resolving issues, or expanding the site as your business grows across Berkshire. Performance gets tracked against the goals agreed at the outset, not just how it looks on launch day.
FAQs about our website design & development services
The questions worth asking before you commit.
What's the starting point? What do we actually need?
Send over your current site and tell us honestly what’s not working, and we’ll give you a clear view on whether targeted fixes will do it or whether it needs a proper rebuild. If you’re running or planning an online shop, that conversation goes deeper still, since ecommerce problems are often structural rather than cosmetic.
How do you choose the right platform and approach for us?
Platform choice comes down to what genuinely suits the project, and increasingly that includes how the site needs to perform in search, since some platforms make that easier than others. WordPress is often right but not automatically, we’ll explain our reasoning rather than picking out of habit.
How long does it take and how hands-on do we need to be?
Most standard business websites take around six to eight weeks from a finalised brief to launch. That’s assuming timely feedback and content from your side, which is usually the biggest variable. Larger or more complex builds take longer, and we’ll give you a realistic estimate once we understand the actual scope. You need to be involved at key decision points: content, design sign-off and functionality feedback. You don’t need daily meetings though. Most clients find a couple of focused check-ins per phase is enough.
What can you actually build?
Building websites is our core focus, from simple brochure sites to custom-built platforms with bookings or e-commerce. E-commerce projects involve significantly more planning: stock, payments, product structure, integrations, the customer journey through checkout. We scope that properly rather than treating it as a standard site with a shop bolted on. Whatever we build, we won’t leave you staring at a blank page on content either. We’ll guide you on structure and what each page needs to do, and if you want help with the actual copy, we can bring that in too.
How do you guarantee quality?
Page speed, mobile responsiveness, accessibility, security. These aren’t extras, they’re requirements. Every site we build works properly across mobile, tablet and desktop as standard. Page speed gets factored into decisions from the design stage, not checked at the end. We build in the technical SEO foundations as standard: proper page structure, clean code, mobile responsiveness and the markup that helps search engines understand your content. Standard security practices are built into every site as part of development, not sold as an optional extra. Building with accessibility in mind from the outset is far more effective than trying to retrofit it.
How do you price this?
It depends on scope. A simple brochure site and a custom platform with e-commerce cost very different amounts. We’ll always give you a clear, itemised quote once we understand what you actually need, rather than a generic package price that doesn’t reflect your situation.
What about SEO?
The technical SEO groundwork, clean structure and proper markup, is built into every site as standard, it’s just part of building it properly. On the design side, that means layout decisions get made with both users and search engines in mind from the start.
What happens after it launches?
Launch is the start rather than the finish, and ongoing support means updates, fixes and new pages don’t turn into a new project each time. On the WordPress side we train your team on day to day content management before handover, so small changes don’t need to come through us at all unless you’d rather they did.
The next step
It’s time to be more clever with your marketing.
Are you ready for a clear-eyed look at where you are, what’s possible, and what a structured plan to get there would look like for your marketing to help you grow? The first conversation costs nothing and comes with no obligation to work together. If there’s a fit, we’ll both know it quickly.
On our discovery call we’ll cover:
- Where you want the business to be in the next 12 to 24 months and what your website needs to do to support that.
- An honest view of how well your current site is serving your commercial goals.
- What a new site would look like, what it would involve, and what to expect at every stage.
You’ll leave with a clear view of the next steps, whether that’s working with us or not.
