Typesetting & Artworking Services

Typesetting and artworking services in Surrey. Files prepared to professional production standard.

The difference between a design that prints beautifully and one that disappoints is almost always in the detail. Bleeds, colour profiles, font embedding, resolution, everything has to be technically correct for the printer’s exact specification. When it is, the job runs smoothly. When it isn’t, you’re paying for reprints.

We provide typesetting and artworking services for businesses in Surrey and across the UK. Creative artworking, long-form typesetting, document design and print-ready file preparation, all delivered to professional production standard so what leaves us goes straight to press.

Our approach

Typesetting and artworking that's precise, consistent and ready for production.

Good typesetting and artworking requires a methodical approach and a thorough understanding of print production requirements. Our team works to exacting standards, so what leaves us is genuinely ready to go to press, not nearly ready.

1. Files built to the specification your printer actually needs.

Website Design & Development

Every printer has specific requirements for bleed, resolution, colour profiles and file format. You get artwork prepared to those exact specifications, not a generic PDF that might work and might not.

2. Typography set with proper care.

*NEW* Typesetting

Type that’s set properly, correctly tracked, kerned (refers to the spaces between letters)  and aligned, is one of those things that’s difficult to articulate but immediately noticeable when it’s wrong. We take it seriously because the quality of typesetting reflects directly on the quality of the publication.

3. Files checked before they leave us.

*NEW* Typesetting

Preflight checks before every file is supplied. Colour, resolution, fonts, bleeds and overprinting all verified. You get files that are ready, not files that need further work before they can go to production.

The difference it makes

When typesetting and artworking are done properly, production runs smoothly every time.

No reprints caused by avoidable technical errors.

A reprint costs more than the artworking job itself. Files prepared correctly mean your print run goes to production without the delays and costs of going back to fix something that should have been right the first time. Professional typesetting and artworking doesn’t have to be slow.

Fast turnaround without the anxiety.

Professional typesetting and artworking doesn’t need to slow your project down. You get a reliable service that delivers to agreed timescales so your print schedule stays on track, and you’re not chasing files the day before your printer needs them.

Consistent quality across every item in a campaign.

When multiple items need to work together. A brochure, a leaflet, a poster, a pull-up, whatever it is, consistency across all of them matters. You get artwork that holds together as a set, produced to the same standard throughout, not individual items that drift in quality.

What we cover

Typesetting and artworking services. Everything your files need to be production-ready.

Here is what our typesetting and artworking service covers.

Print-Ready Artworking

CMYK colour conversion, bleed setup, font embedding and packaging to the exact specification required. Whether offset, digital or large format, you get files your printer can send straight to production. No additional preparation needed at their end.

Typesetting Services

Long-form text laid out correctly: consistent spacing, proper hyphenation, widow and orphan control (avoiding awkward line breaks that disrupt the appearance and readability of a document) and alignment that makes reading effortless. Applied to brochures, reports, books, catalogues, prospectuses and any other document that needs careful typographic treatment.

Document Design & Formatting

Professionally formatted documents: reports, proposals, presentations, templates, designed for clarity, consistency and ease of use. Whether it’s a one-off document or a template your team uses every day, you get something that looks as professional as the content inside it.

Templates for Campaigns and Variants

Production-ready templates for campaigns where multiple versions are needed, different sizes, languages or regional variants, set up once correctly and used consistently. The upfront investment pays back every time a new version is produced.

Amends & Revisions to Existing Artwork

Text or image changes made to existing artwork, prepared to print-ready standard so revisions don’t introduce new technical problems. A common requirement and one we turn around quickly.

Preflight & Quality Checking

A thorough technical review of any existing artwork before it goes to print, identifying issues that would cause problems in production. Useful when you’ve received files from another supplier and want confidence before committing to a print run.

File Format Conversion

Converting artwork between formats (AI, InDesign, PDF, EPS) for production, archiving or handover to another supplier. Correctly formatted, not simply exported and left to chance.

What our clients say

Businesses we've helped grow.
In their own words.

We’ve worked with businesses across a whole range of industries over the years. Here’s what some of them have to say about working with us.

Common questions

The questions most people ask before briefing a typesetting or artworking project.

What's the difference between typesetting and artworking?

Typesetting is the process of arranging text on a page. Spacing, alignment, hyphenation, hierarchy and all the typographic decisions that make long-form content readable and consistent. Artworking is broader: it covers preparing design files to print-ready standard, including colour conversion, bleed setup, font embedding and file packaging. The two often go together, and we provide both as a combined service or separately depending on what you need.

We work primarily in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and can accept and output a wide range of formats. If you have existing files in a specific format, get in touch and we’ll confirm whether we can work with them directly.

It depends on complexity and volume. Simple documents and single-item artworking can often be turned around in 24 to 48 hours. Larger or more complex projects are scoped individually. We’ll always give you a realistic timeline upfront, and we’re used to working to tight print deadlines.

Yes. We’re based in Surrey but provide typesetting and artworking services for businesses throughout the UK, including London. Most projects are handled entirely remotely and the process works well wherever you’re based.

Yes. Working to brand guidelines is a standard part of our process. Share them with us and we’ll follow them precisely, from colour values to typography rules and spacing standards.

Yes. Alongside print artworking and typesetting, we design and format business documents, reports, proposals, presentations and templates. If you need documents that look as professional as your print collateral, we can handle that as part of the same brief.

Yes, we can supply directly to your printer if required, or provide print-ready files for you to send yourself. Either works, and we’ll confirm the printer’s exact specification before we prepare the files.

The next step

Every print job deserves to go to press looking exactly right. Let's make sure yours does.

Whether you have artwork that needs preparing for print or you’re earlier in the process and need typesetting from scratch, the first step is a conversation. We’ll look at what you need, the timeline you’re working to and the most efficient way to approach it.

On that call we’ll cover:

  • What you need producing and the timeline you’re working to
  • The print specification and any existing artwork or brand guidelines
  • How best to structure the project for your deadlines and budget
  • What format and how you’d like the files supplied

No pressure. No jargon. Just a straight conversation with people who care about getting it right.

Fill in the form and someone from the team will be in touch to arrange a time that suits you.
