If you have the brief, we have the solution
A full service team of specialists, built to deliver.
It’s tempting to think covering a whole county means simply creating a page for every town and hoping each one ranks. That approach tends to produce thin, near-identical pages that struggle to rank for anything and can actually work against you. A proper county-wide strategy needs real structure, genuine differentiation between areas, and content that’s actually substantial enough to be useful.
We plan that structure carefully from the start, working out which areas genuinely warrant dedicated focus and how to build content that serves real searchers rather than just existing to tick a location off a list.

Covering Hampshire properly means more moving parts than a single-location strategy, but the underlying disciplines are the same. We apply the same rigour to a county-wide brief as we would to a single town, just with a clearer structure for managing the added complexity.
- Technical SEO - Fix the foundations so rankings actually work.
- On-page SEO - Content that ranks for what people search.
- Local SEO - Show up in local searches that matter.
- AI SEO - Stay ahead of where search is going.
- Account setup and reporting - See what's working. Monthly, clear, honest.

The Clever way
Built around your business, not a generic process.
Getting a county-wide strategy right starts with proper planning of how the site should be structured, not jumping straight into producing content for every town.
Step 1
Discovery & research
We carry out a full audit covering technical health, existing content, backlink profile and current visibility across standard and AI search, alongside mapping out how competitive different parts of Hampshire are and where genuine opportunity exists.
Step 2
Design &
development
From the audit, we build a structured plan: technical fixes, a content strategy that gives genuine substance to each area you serve rather than duplicating thin pages, and structured data helping search engines and AI tools understand your coverage accurately.
Step 3
Delivery & results
We report on performance broken down by area as well as overall, so you can see clearly which parts of Hampshire are responding to the strategy and where more attention might be needed, alongside the headline numbers for rankings and enquiries.
FAQs about our website design & development services
The questions worth asking before you commit.
What's the difference between SEO, technical SEO, local SEO and AI SEO, and how do you keep up with Google's changes?
SEO covers a lot of ground. Technical SEO is the site’s basic health, speed and structure. Local SEO gets you found nearby through your Google Business Profile. And increasingly there’s AI search, making sure your business actually gets mentioned when people ask AI tools and answer engines questions rather than typing a query into Google, a habit that’s growing fast enough that competitors showing up while you don’t is ground lost quietly. We run all of this as one strategy rather than separate jobs, and keep pace by testing changes ourselves on the sites we manage.
How long does SEO take to show results, and do you guarantee first page rankings?
Honestly, longer than most agencies admit up front. Early technical fixes can bring quick wins, but proper movement in rankings and enquiries usually takes three to six months, sometimes more in a competitive market. We’ll give you a realistic timeline for your actual market rather than a sales pitch. On guarantees, no, we don’t promise first page rankings, and any agency that does is telling you what you want to hear rather than the truth, since nobody can guarantee a specific Google position. What we can promise is a properly resourced strategy and honest reporting on what it’s achieving. If you’ve been hit by an update and rankings have dropped, we’ll check whether it’s genuinely algorithm related, then build a recovery plan, though there’s rarely a quick fix once that’s confirmed.
Can SEO work alongside paid advertising, and do we still need it if we're already ranking on page one?
Yes, and combining the two usually beats running just one. Paid advertising gets you seen immediately, SEO builds visibility gradually, and when both are managed together the data from each informs the other, making your spend go further. Organic results appear because Google judges them relevant on merit, no cost per click, while paid ones are there because of a bid. Ranking well already doesn’t make ongoing SEO optional either, those positions move as competitors invest and Google updates its algorithm, and a spot left unattended tends to drift down over time.
What's involved in a technical audit, how much does page speed matter, and what would you fix first on most sites?
A technical audit looks at how fast your site loads, whether search engines can crawl and index it properly, how it’s structured, and whether hidden errors are quietly stopping it from ranking. If you’ve never had one, or it’s been over a year, it’s a good place to start, since problems found here tend to be the quickest to fix and the quickest to show results. Page speed matters a lot too, Google has been clear it’s a ranking factor since Core Web Vitals arrived, and a slow site loses visitors before they’ve even seen what you offer. As for what we’d fix first, usually it’s one of three things, broken conversion tracking, missing or duplicated page titles, or a site structure that hides your most important pages from search engines.
How does Google decide which sites to rank, and where do backlinks and things like page structure fit in?
Google weighs hundreds of signals, but they mostly reduce to relevance, authority and technical quality. Relevance is whether the content genuinely answers what was searched. Authority comes from credible sites linking in and your wider reputation. Technical quality is how well built the site is and how good it feels to use. Backlinks remain one of the strongest authority signals, though quality beats quantity comfortably, one link from a reputable source outweighs dozens from weak directories, and mass link offers tend to cause harm later. Then there’s what happens on your own pages, titles, headings, content and internal links, versus factors outside your site, both need proper attention.
What does keyword research actually involve, how do you measure whether SEO is working, and does a blog help?
Keyword research means working out what people are genuinely typing into search, which is often quite different from what you’d assume. We look at search volumes, competition and how intent shifts across different phrases, focusing on searches likely to bring real enquiries rather than just traffic, and that shapes everything from page structure to content priorities. We measure success through organic traffic, ranking movement, and most importantly actual enquiries and sales coming from search, since rankings alone aren’t the goal, a position three page that converts beats a position one page that nobody buys from. A blog can genuinely help if it answers real questions your customers search for, building authority and new routes into your site. A blog full of generic posts nobody’s searching for just adds upkeep without doing much good.
What's the risk with cheap SEO, can you help with content too, what about duplicate content, and what happens if we redesign the site?
Cheap SEO usually means shortcuts, automated links, spun content, keyword stuffing, all things Google actively penalises, and recovering afterwards costs a lot more than doing it properly from day one. We handle content and technical work as one job rather than two separate ones, so content plans come straight out of keyword research with the right foundations already there. Duplicate content is more common than people think, especially on shops with multiple product versions, handled through canonical tags plus a proper audit. A redesign is one of the most common causes of a ranking drop, usually broken redirects or lost content, so involve us before it starts rather than after.
How do you get us ranking locally, and can you look after our Google Business Profile for us?
Yes, that’s exactly what local SEO covers, and it’s a core part of what we do. We handle your Google Business Profile directly, get you listed properly across the sites that matter and build your content so search engines understand where you operate and who you’re trying to reach. That side of things matters just as much as your general rankings, maybe more, if most of your customers live nearby. Your Google Business Profile is that listing that pops up when someone searches for your type of business on Maps or in local results, and for a lot of local businesses it’s honestly worth more day to day than where the website itself ranks, simply because it shows up before the normal search results even load. We keep it accurate, updated and properly maintained as part of the ongoing work, since that’s one of the cheapest and most effective things we can do for a client’s visibility, and it’s usually one of the first things we sort when we take on a new account.
The next step
It’s time to be more clever with your marketing.
Are you ready for a clear-eyed look at where you are, what’s possible, and what a structured plan to get there would look like for your marketing to help you grow? The first conversation costs nothing and comes with no obligation to work together. If there’s a fit, we’ll both know it quickly.
On our discovery call we’ll cover:
- Where you want the business to be in the next 12 to 24 months and what your website needs to do to support that.
- An honest view of how well your current site is serving your commercial goals.
- What a new site would look like, what it would involve, and what to expect at every stage.
You’ll leave with a clear view of the next steps, whether that’s working with us or not.
